Palm Beach Conservancy

projects

Below are some of the projects that the Palm Beach conservancy undertakes.

SNARE TRACK

Snare Track is motivated by a group of volunteers, who are willing and able to go into dense bush/forest areas to find and disable/remove snares placed by illegal poachers.  The South Coast area is plagued by illegal poaching and dog hunting.

RECYCLING

The Conservancy promotes an active recycling program, working with Redeemed Recycling.

Residents ready various recyclables once a month or every second Friday of the month for collection.

FUNDRAISING

The Conservancy does an array of fundraising events throughout the year to raise funds for projects.

Watch out on the news pages for the next fun filled event!

BEACH CLEANUPS

Community members walk the streets and beaches daily, picking up plastic and garbage. Poly pack and plastics are killing our oceans. It's a very long process, but every bag filled helps, hence the need to move away from non-biodegradable packaging. Save our Oceans, Save our Planet.

MARKETS

The Palm Beach Conservancy hosts an Outdoor vendor markets approximately every three months. Greenhart Estate sponsor the use of their Private green space and electricity. Vendors pay R50 to the conservancy to sell their items and promote their business. Locals working together, to make things better.

PROJECT CLEAN GROUND WATER

The conservancy is testing and tracking the source of High ecoli levels present in the streams coming out onto the Main beach feeds. Ongoing monthly water testing by our Waterboyz to understand where the contamination is originating from.
